Robert Funke was born in Leipzig in 1985. He completed his studies at Berlin’s Ostkreuzschule für Fotografie in 2014. As co-founder and former editor of FOG; a magazine and platform for documentary works, he is particularly interested in long-term photographic projects as well as portraits and reportages.
So far his photographic works have been exhibited in Berlin, Karlsruhe, Wiesbaden, Hanover, Cottbus (Germany), Montpellier and in Brest (France). Robert lives and works in Germany as a freelance photographer for organizations, associations and companies.
Besides photography, Robert is passionate about planting trees, growing vegetables and digging with his hands in soil. He is the co-founder of the association "Veredas da Estrela", which serves to prevent wildfires, reforest and restore local ecosystems in the Serra da Estrela National Park in Central Portugal.
